We are a voluntary sector organisation which offers a wide range of services to children and young people with special educational needs, disabilities and complex health needs, and their families, living in Leicestershire and Leicester. We are committed to providing a holistic, empowering, professional service, which focuses on preventative, early intervention and help.
We aim to work in partnership with children, young people their families and all the services working with them. Our ambition is to help families live as ordinary lives as possible.
The support and services we can offer:
A Help Line – Providing advice, support, information and signposting for parents, carers and professionals in Leicestershire and Leicester. Referrals can be made to the service via the Helpline 01455 323028 Monday-Friday, 10am to 4pm
Early Support, Key working and Coordination – Ensuring services for children and young people with complex needs are child and family centred, holistic, coordinated and reviewed. (This service is for children/young people 0-19yrs living in Leicestershire County and 5-19yrs in the City of Leicester)
Benefits/ Grants Support – Supporting parents/carers and young people with completing disability related benefits forms i.e. The Disability Living Allowance and Personal Independence Payments. Help in accessing grants, which are available to support families of disabled children/young people.
‘I Can Do It Too’ Taster activity Scheme – Giving disabled children and young people the same opportunities through sport, play and leisure activities to increase their confidence, fitness and self-esteem, communication and social skills and have fun. ( This service is only available to families living in Leicestershire County).
Together for Families Support Groups – County wide monthly support groups, providing the opportunity for parents/carers to meet together, gain support from each other and find out about services that may be able to support them.
