Royal Visit to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Menphys
Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex will be visiting the Menphys Centre in Wigston on Thursday 5th November 2009 to mark the centre’s 40th Anniversary.
Her Royal Highness will be taken on a tour of the centre and see some of the work under taken by the children. During the visit the Countess will cut a celebratory cake to mark the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Menphys Sketchley Hill Nursery, the Menphys Special Outreach Service and the Menphys Sport, Play and Leisure Clubs. Her Royal Highness will then be invited to sign the visitor’s book and 4 year old Phoebie Lundy, who attends the centre, will present the Countess with a posy.
A number of local civic dignitaries will also be present at the event including the Chairman of Leicestershire County Council, Roger Wilson and Mayor of Oadby & Wigston, Cllr Kevin Loydall.
Peter Smith, Chairman of the Trustees of Menphys, said:

the excellent staff at Menphys who work so diligently for our very
special children and their families”.
