Menphys Information

Menphys was established in 1969 when a playgroup was started for young children with special needs. It has since grown and now supports:

-Two specialist nurseries that are professionally staffed and where parents are invited to be fully involved.

-A support outreach service that helps over two thousand families in the cityand county. The service provides friendship and support, help with findingChildminders, support with claiming benefits and training.

-Three clubs that are held on Saturday mornings to provide both quality activities and opportunities for children and young people with disabilitiesand a welcome break for their parents.

Menphys is managed by a Board of Trustees who all give their time and enthusiasm free of charge. Menphys enjoys positive partnerships with Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council who between them contribute around £260,000 a year to the centres.
