Menphys Club Manager

Salary: £25,694.40 (pro rata)

Hours: 18.5 hrs per week

Location: Menphys Office in Whetstone, Leicestershire and Barley Croft Community Centre, Malham Close, Leicester.

Menphys is a local charity that has been established in Leicestershire and Leicester for over 45 years. Our vision is for a future full of equal choices and opportunities for disabled children and young people.

Menphys supports two Saturday Clubs which provide a quality social space for children and young people with a range of disabilities. These provide the opportunity to take part in quality meaningful activities and experiences that stimulate and develop the member’s skills in a friendly, supportive and needs-led environment.

We are looking to recruit a Club Manager with substantial experience in working with disabled children and young people with the ambition to develop a service that strives for excellence. You will ideally have a qualification in child development and/or youth work.

Bank Club Staff Members – Menphys Saturday Club

Menphys Saturday Clubs are looking for ‘Bank’ Staff Members to join their friendly team to cover for holidays, absences, and reduced staff levels.

Our clubs are for children aged 8-16 years, and young people aged 16-25 years with special educational needs and disabilities and are based at the Barley Croft Community Centre, Beaumont Leys, Leicester.

The Saturday Clubs run during school terms from 9:45am-1:15pm.

As a Bank Staff Member, you will be part of the team that directly supports the club members with the programme of activities and with needs-led support to include delivering personal care and other tasks required in order to develop and promote independence.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of supporting children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities will be creative, enthusiastic, reliable and have a great sense of humour!
Hourly rate is £7.51 per hour. Full training will be given. This post is ideal for somebody wishing to gain experience in order to move into a career in education, health, social care and youth work, but does not want the commitment of working at our clubs every Saturday.

The skills I have learnt I want to use going forwards and have helped shape my development as a person. I have loved working in the Saturday Club team.

The Menphys Saturday Clubs are looking to recruit a team of volunteers to help support our club members who have a variety of disabilities and needs. We have two clubs, that run every Saturday morning term time only.

Volunteer at the Menphys Charity Shop

The charity shop plays a vital part in raising funds as well as getting the Menphys name in to the local community. Located at 2 Carlisle Street, Leicester LE3 6AF, the shop opens Monday through to Saturday.

What you can expect to be doing; developing customer service skills, working on the till and processing sales and returns, stock processing & preparation, including sorting, steaming and pricing, visual merchandising – creating stylish windows and displays, replenishing stock on the shop floor and administrative tasks such as stocktaking.
