World renowned Illustration genius Stanley Chow has created 100 limited edition A3 prints of Leicester City Legend Jamie Vardy to help raise money for disabled young people across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.
Chow produces work for a wide range of clients including local businesses and internationally recognised brands. Throughout Manchester his work can be seen at Metrolink tram stops promoting Transport for Greater Manchester’s Get Me There travel card scheme and in 2014 and 2015 Chow’s illustrations were commissioned by the Modern Designers agency to promote Chinese New Year celebrations in the city.
Internationally, Chow’s clients include Saatchi & Saatchi, McDonald's, WWE and Wired magazine. He also regularly supplies illustrations to The New Yorker magazine and as well as producing images for articles has created portraits of a number of The New Yorker's featured contributing staff.
In 2018, the National Football Museum set Chow the task of selecting his all-time favourite football XI, for which he has produced a set of exclusive illustrations featuring some surprising inclusions.
The exhibition included objects from Chow’s personal collection and the Museum’s archive, including a football sticker album which he collected as a child in the 1980s. One of Chow's earliest football memories was watching England play France in the 1982 World Cup on television while waiting with his family to catch a flight to Hong Kong. Bryan Robson scored after just 27 seconds; his England shirt from that game was displayed as part of the exhibition.
The framed prints of Premier League winner Jamie Vardy will go on sale next week as we continue to find new and innovative ways to fund the charity during challenging times.
"With events being cancelled, our shops still closed and services remaining suspended it was important to look for new ways to raise funds. Having been a great admirer of Stan's work I reached out and was amazed by how quickly he responded not only with a positive answer but with a fun design of Jamie Vardy. We hope that Leicester City fans snap up the limited edition prints and we can raise a good amount of money so we can continue to support disabled children and young people across the county at this unusual time".
